Definitions

Occasional: periodic care - but NOT every week.  A 'Baby Sitter,' Sick Child Care, Temporary Nanny, etc.   Our Sitter Connection provides the best value and service for these types of needs.

Regular Care: same person on a regular basis.  Can be full-time coming every day. Can be part-time with the same schedule each week or even a schedule that changes every week.

Full-Time:  40 or more hours per week.
Part-Time:  less than 40 hours per week.

Mother's Helper: Often a younger person, less experienced, that works side by side with the parent or another caregiver.

Sitter:  Has at least 1-2 years of experience and is capable of caring for the children, but will not have any child development or early childhood education training.

Summer Nanny:  Often a college student or a teacher.  Usually available from late May to early August.
Aftershool Sitter: Picks up the kids from school (or meets kids at the bus/house); prepares a snack; helps kids with homework, etc.  Often a college student.
Nanny: Usually aged 21 an up with at least 2-3 years of experience caring for children.  Has a background, knowledge or education in child development or early childhood education.
House Manager:  A nanny with the additional ability to manage the full household.  Will organize, schedule appointments, make travel plans and see to smooth running of the household.
